So why isn't the PRICE reduced then?. NO i didn't think so. I played/loved Witcher3 and it's dlc and the lengh of the game. Leave the game how it was meant to be, if that's 10 or a 1000 hours. Why you shorten my experience of the game cos some ass wipes dont like/can't be bothered to finish the game?. So for that reason i wil not! buying your shorten goty game.

It's a travesty.
I mostly stay away from news, trailers and anything that could spoil a game I think I will buy, so can't be sure of what some of you refer to when they speak about Cyberpunk being shortened.

It doesn't seem to be the concern of the thread creator though? What I read is that he\she may prefer a mainquest with consequencial branching and increased reactivity to the choices offered to the player, rather that a game filled with not necessarly interesting side quests at the expense of the main quest(s)'s complexity and options.

The comparison between Witcher 2 and 3 is valid here, because each represent a different minset of games development.
That being said, W3 being open world and having a lot more of side quests don't automatically make it a superior game.
But on the other hand, nothing is forcing you to hunt every monsters contracts, treasures, and others sides things.

So W3 being too long is not a valid thing to say in my experience, if anything, the main quest is too short and very underwhelming compared to W1 and 2. A shame when it was supposed to be the most interesting, with Geralt having his memories back,(or so the game tell us) and objectives that are actually his concern for a change.
But it's not the witcher's forum, so I just keep the two different 'models' of games in mind.

W2 (or W1 for that matter) aren't 'lesser' games to W3. They treated their main quests a lot better than the underwhelming W3. But like I said, the latter isn't mandatory longer, especially if you consider that in universe, it make absolutely no sense to 'wander and explore', let alone chasing every side things, or even to help some of Geralt's 'friends'. You can choose that at least.

To conclude, Cyberpunk is, to me at least, a different beast in the sense that, (for what I know?), it doesn't have the weight on it's shoulders to have (much?) established characters, universe and such through books or otherwise?
So I can start fresh and just enjoy, my only expectation is a interesting and potentially great game, regardless of it's 'model' or the like, I can just start fresh and see. Hm, actually I expect (with a moderating hope), that the game will surprise me and who knows, maybe merge both discussed above models in a successful way.

ARGRANATI: Hi, anyone there has that need for CP2077 to be more like Witcher 2?

A tight experience with many options and consequences and not that many fetch quest or dialogue just to fill what would be a minor event.

I keep thinking that the way W3 main quest was chained to a million other events was a drag even with many of those quest been good quality.

I don't think it will happen because most people will think of if as lowering the product but the fact they said the map is going to be smaller got me thinking.

Just saying.
I actually started to ignore large parts of the story/world. Which is, in fact, making open worlds more "believable". After all, in the real world, you would also choose to pursue those quests you are interested in and ignore the others.

It is, in fact, interesting to play in a world in which you do *not* know every nook and cranny. And in which you do not have the time or inclination to pursue all the quests.

I am looking forward to the thousands of pounds of side quests. May be a little heavy, but worth it in the end.

I would disagree that the main quest was somehow shorter or less interesting in Witcher 3. To me, Witcher 1 was excellent and original - it is always very difficult to have a great original game. Witcher 2 was a lesser game to me due to its extremely linear nature - you basically just kept on running from point A to point B in a straight line, never to turn back. Also the plot and the ending were not that exciting (for me - to each one his own). W3 in my opinion is one of the best RPGs ever made, due to its overall vastness / great amount of high quality content and how well it is made (graphics, dialogues, how polished it is, etc.) W1 and W2 (to a lesser extent) lead up to this greatness. I've replayed W1 and W3 multiple times - never quite got a desire to replay W2.

I really hope Cyberpunk lives up to this greatness - I am starting to have doubts based on what I saw so far in the content made available to the public. I also hope that this latest delay will actually add value and we don't get an extremely buggy game on 9 different platforms which will take forever to resolve.
