Good morning/afternoon/etc.

I am running an i7 9700k with an rtx 2060 gpu and 16 gb of ram. The system is approx 1 year old, liquid cooled and otherwise plays games just fine. I cleaned it out (dusted) less than 1 month ago.

Nevertheless, shortly after I boot up the game, all 8 cores on my PC are pushing 80%+ load and hovering at around 100c temp. All fans blowing maximum. My frame rates are stable, but the heat and system taxing is worrisome..

I should be able to play the game comfortably at High settings according to everything I've read. However, I have lowered all my graphics to the minimum setting to hopefully run the system cooler, but that seems to have changed nothing.

Is this an known issue? Is it just an optimization matter that can be addressed in a patch? Is it something to be worried about for my computer's health?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks.
That´s not normal man, Im getting 64 max on the cpu while playing CP2077. Did you take it apart when you dusted your rig? Pump working? Thermal paste? Correctly seated? I wouldn´t bother gaming until you check if the hardware is in place. What temps are you getting in other games?
Forgot to mention, I have same specs as you but running an air cooler.

Have you checked all your drivers as well? There was a Nvidia Update that dropped about 10hrs prior to release that specifically mentioned CP2077 so it might help you.
If your PC is burning hot then it's not the game's fault, it's to do with your cooling set-up. Ensure everything is set-up as intended.

I updated the drivers yesterday. I did not take the rig apart to dust it. I am not technically savvy enough to try and reapply thermal paste hehe.

Sounds like I should run this PC to a repair shop?

Other games run around 60c but I dont have anything similar to this one in terms of graphic intensity. Mostly playing Roguetech (Battletech total mod) and older games like Witcher 3.
It's making my 5700XT hotter as well. The fans kick in just few minutes after launching the game, meanwhile in every other game I played I can't even hear the GPU for the most of the time. Sometimes I even hear a slight coil whine while playing. I think I'll wait for more patches and drivers.

Edit: don't know what happened, but suddenly it appears to be working normally. Played the game a bit with hwinfo opened, max temp for CPU was ~70C, GPU ~80C with hotspot ~93C, so rather normal temperatures. I guess lowering or disabling few graphical options helped a bit.

I had the same problem, CPU temp was around 90 degrees, went to bios and turned off Turbo Boost/Turbo mode, now the max temp is 68 degrees. It's just a temporary solution until they optimize the game.
I can confirm that you should definitely play comfortably on your specs (I play on RTX 2060, i5-9600k and 16GB RAM and get mostly 55-60 frames).
Disable v-sync, turn on frame limit (so GPU won't overwork itself)/
I also disabled chromatic aberration and filmgrain effects (so a tiny bit less work for GPU).

My GPU's fan does work it's best, but it's not trying to go SSJ2 or anything, and I don't go above 75-80C (both GPU and CPU).

Also, I'm playing on Win10 with newest Win updates and GeForce drivers, on SSD.
