Something I missed until far too many hours in: Look at Crafting/Upgrade, you can improve even your starting gear to keep it usable as long as you care to.

Noticed a number of folk complaining about needing to wear mismatched or "ugly" stuff for stats, not so it seems :)

Try doing it. Once, twice is fine. But try to keep doing it, it keeps getting more and more expensive...
