Are you kidding me? You know you expect the game to be on a SSD? Is there a way to install the patch without having to move the game to a old HDD?
As of GOG Beta 2.0.33 (16th December 2020)

it is now possible to select an external temporary update folder

for version prior to that it may be possible to make a symlink outside using windows command line (cmd)

mklink /D "<Path to your 2077>\!Temp" "<Path to new>\gognewtempfolder"

with <Path to your 2077> to be your actual SSD Path for example D:\Spiele\GOG Library\Cyberpunk 2077
and <Path to new> to be the path pointing to the HDD containing the new gognewtempfolder folder on HDD

Best regards

I suspect that Galaxy needs to unpack every binary that the patch is modifying to make changes. That's probably the reason for requiring so much space, it would also explain why applying the patch takes so long and why my PC is slowing down during patching.
I don't use galaxy and i won't use it. If i would want to use a DRM-Client i would buy the game on steam instead of GOG.

But it is not important anymore, i requested a refund. Don't want to spend the holidays while being bugged by this game.

If I knew the updating system of GOG was so horrible I wouldn't have bought it on GOG.

I downloaded the 3 Bin files of 1.05, including the launcher, and it still requires me to have 104 gig of free space.

How can the update system be so bad on GOG? I don't understand how they can get away with this. Buying a game on GOG for the first and last time...
You can choose where the patching and downloads goto in the Gog Settings.

Galaxy is not at fault here then, it's just the way the game itself handles updates.

I wouldn't say that Galaxy is a DRM-client. You can launch the game without Galaxy, and just use it to keep your games updated.
