Hello, this is about the new update. I know in 1.3 fixers will call less often, but I have gotten literally zero calls over many of the hours I've been playing. Do I have to do anything in specific?

EDIT: I mean they do not text me (they don't call)

Yeah, same here.
I actually had to go talk to Mama wells, who gave me a thing to talk to the bartender (finished that quest AFTER talking to The Padre, who didnt say anything that time either, then I: Talked to The Padre AGAIN, who didnt say anything about a job, started the fight with the beat on the brat guy that was there, LEAVE the area w/o fighting him, and THEN I got a call from The Padre giving me a call to do a gig.
But, The Padre didnt give me a job UNTIL I did all that. I tried just talking to him (same old options, nothing new) and leaving the area and he didnt give a gig.

Gigs don't work like car offers: most of the time, to get a gig you need to reach a certain street cred level or do some main/side quests.
NPCs don't give you gigs just by talking to them.

I believe cars also have minimum street cred requirements - though they must have mostly had similar requirements given how many offers they'd throw at you at once...

I believe to get car offers you also might need to be in their area at the time? I can't 100% recall how it used to be, and I haven't played recently so not sure how they implemented the thing about giving offers less often...

I don't even get why and/or if people have been complaining about receiving too many car purchase offers... I mean, it's just a text every now and then, doesn't break any quest, you can read it when you want, and generally it just sits there until you decide to buy the car (if you've got the eddies).
I just don't get it...

That's a good point. Though it did feel like that the fixers were used car salesmen at one point...

I mainly wish that missions wouldn't automatically be assigned to you once you get close enough. That doesn't make any sense - are the fixers actively checking your GPS and waiting for you to come close before calling you? And then they assume you're going to take the job? It would make much more sense if they instead had some kind of bulletin board thing where you could pick your job from a list or a map even, instead of getting things marked on the map and going there. It's a really strange design decision, and is pretty annoying when you're driving around to get somewhere and all of a sudden someone dumps another mission on you. Sure we don't have to do it straight away, but it's still weird.

I don't have a problem with the police missions working like that, but the fixer missions should work better.

I'd prefer to get fixer missions by going there and talking to them even.

Yeah, that would work better, I guess.
But I was just talking about the car sale messages, not the overall gig quest design.

I know, I just went off on a tangent there... ;)
