So, I tried to open that door through the terminal. I've got that option "extract data", trying to breach it. I expected it to get me the password (strangely misnamed code, as these things often are), but it doesn't look like it did anything. What exactly is it for?

you don't mention any particular gig, location, or instance so how can anyone know what\where you are talking about?

there are gigs where data extraction is required to progress. some of those you have to try multiple times\locations before finding the correct data.
others it is only one of many options. perhaps you need to search elsewhere in the vicinity for another option.

It might even just be a random door found. I've found those and some which are glitched and don't show force open, or only have authorization.

I agree, we need more details here.
I did need more info myself to express my interrogations, it seems!

Um, are you using Google translate?

We just need to know what mission this is in, or is it a world encounter door.

No, I don't. Is that half of my post got deleted? Because I wasn't clear or something? It' won't help me get better, you know…

So, I'll start again, but whoever did this, not cool. Let's start over.

Electronic locks are not common, but are all over the place. When breached, the options are to either "deactivate" them, which makes no sense or to extract their data, which makes no sense either.
Sometimes, one or both these options are disabled, I don't know why.
When I found one that permitted to "extract data", I tried it and it looks like it does nothing. What is it for? Why is it it disables the "deactivate" option.

Ah, yeah that's most likely either content left in that wasn't removed or just broken features.

See, you were even supposed to hack with the monowire to get into private networks, a wired hack..

None of us know how much more was in the game but that might bne some of what's left of the unfinished content that might have been unlockabkle.
I believe he’s talking about the Troublesome Neighbours Gig. This gig is a little north from Lizzy’s (the Mox bar). I’m replaying Cyberpunk and this area stood out to me too. It’s a lot more dense than other gig sites. There are three levels here so it has verticality. You can enter the stores and shops here too. Many of the doors are blocked from being opened, but you can still open the windows to get around.

This area has a lot of hacking options (that don’t work) that you don’t find elsewhere. The extract data on a keypad next to a door, a camera system with a self destruct option, remote open on some doors, objects that say they aren’t powered so you can’t hack them. It could be that there is a way to power the doors that I didn’t find.

There’s a lot of cool stuff here. The kind of stuff I was expecting in the whole game. That being said none of these features are working. My assumption is that this was one of the first areas made and it was decided that that level of detail was too much or something. It’s too bad. Would have been nice to have these options in the other areas.
