Cyberpunk Soon says the splash screen.

Just a quick note to say mid September is not SOON its nearly 5 months away.

Like they said in their very first teaser trailer "Coming: When it's ready". That was 7 years ago. I'd say 5 months is soon in this case.

I wish they would release a version of the character creator, before the game comes out. So we could get an idea of how much character customization is possible.

If they did release a Character Creator "soon", it might be reason to be at least a little interested in the game. Right now, I am totally on the fence about his whole project.

A creator might give an idea of what the graphic characteristics will be like. More then likely, if they did, it will be completely worthless by game date. At this point it may be to just appease a frustrated audience.

Very true it probably would be worthless by the time the game came out. But as you said at least it would give us an idea of what to expect from the game.
