I get the feeling that V is literally an Anon.
Like, they don't actually have a real face, it's like a blank surface, everyone around them is just imprinting a face into them, kinda like how The Doctor has a card that shows people what they wanna see.
V is also the name of the mysterious character in the amazing movie "V for Vendetta", from which the anonymous mask originates.
It would be really nice to, after playing the game for hundreds of hours, get hints towards why we, the players, get to choose how V looks like at the beginning.
