Looks like I can reproduce a crash to desktop when activating the mirror in V`s apartment, as well as at the start of the nomad playthrough, just after the character creation.

Hope that one gets squashed soon.
Took me over twenty attempts to start that character and pass the bug somehow.

Are you on Win 7? Try running the desktop shortcut 1) in Win 7 compatibility mode and 2) as admin

This is like my new forum mantra as it saved my ass playing Win 7 on a GTX - make sure you have the latest Nvidia drivers too.

Rain and reflective surfaces CTD me almost 100% of time. I'm trying to run w/ Win 7 compatibility and as admin, but I am trying to get past the first cutscene in apartment after the prologue mission. Soon as a look out my window BAM , crash.

Heck, for me I can't even get control of the character. It crashes within 5-10 secs of the map loading after character creation. I have to keep recreating a new character just to test things because I can't get far enough to save the game.

You`ra starting as a Nomad, too, right? I`m still not sure how I managed to get past that first mirror. Took me over 20 attempts to do so and immediately after mash F5 for a quicksave before it crashes. That plus frikkin`low settings (and of course newest drivers) seemed to work after a handful of tries.

Damn, I lost three days getting past that first mirror. The things people do for love... ( ╥﹏╥)

Aaand found two more mirrors that crash the game over and over again. The one in the bath where you wash your face after "The Heist" and directly after that, the first time you see Johnny Silverhand (in the mirror).

Any chance we can get an estimate on how long that may take to be fixed? Because like this, it`s unplayable for me and I would rather play the game myself than send my safe game to a friend every 5 minutes so he can skip the next mirror moment for me.

Might try messing with the graphics settings Mirror Quality (obviously), but also the rest of the ones in the advanced section (except maybe anistropy and LOD which should matter)...

also highly recommend disabling film grain (just extra visual noise to soften hard/flat geometry), chromatic aberration (prism color seperation effect), and lens flare (extra blinding shiny surfaces)

any of those things has the potential to makes special calls that the drivers or subsytem on W7 might not understand and crash it.

Did all that (and sometimes more). Does not solve anything, sadly.

Finally got it to work after lowering the mirror / reflection setting to low. (And only that setting. Everything else is default.) Then had more crashes until I reinstalled the graphics driver after doing a clean uninstall with DDU.

After that everything is fine. (Well minus the usual bugs that come with a new release. :) At least the crashing stopped.)

When looking in the mirror, V becomes bald if he is wearing a helmet or hat in my case.

1.06: No improvements on my side.

Have you tried to install windows 10? Windows 7 support has ended 11 months ago.

This game clearly has issues on Windows 7. It needs Windows 10 despite saying it will work on 7.

I have been testing the game of both OS(7 and 10, the performance is the same), also find this bug. You can do the following:
1* Lock the game at 10fps
2* Scale down the game to the lowest resolution.
After you exit the mirror you can unlock your fps or change to your original resolution.

Gonna try this immediately. Thanks for the help.
