Was attempting to make a Contagion 1-shot cyberware set on a low int character, by using Chipware Connoisseur to roll for +% Quickhack damage and +% Damage over time.
Ended up with:
+38% Quickhack damage
+31.8% DoT damage
+2.9% Chem damage
+1.2% All Damage
= +73.9% expected bonus damage
I'm using the Raven cyberdeck which has no quickhack bonus damage, don't have the Int skill bonus damage, and with only 4 int don't have any perks that might skew things.
Ran some tests on a nearby cyberpsyco, and comparing against base (after ripping out all cyberware minus deck and swapping in some non-bonus dmg eyes).
Between (Tier 4) Contaigeon, Static Shock (DoT) and Overheat, saw only a ~35% increase.
Note that DoT + Chem + All damage bonuses = 35.9%
Curious, I tried removing pieces that didn't have quickhack damage, and then removing pieces that did have quickhack damage.
From basic tests, it appears the +% Quickhack damage does nothing, even to Static Shock's base damage (which actually went down slightly for some reason).
So TL:DR Don't roll for +% Quickhack damage on those little percentile values at the bottom of cyberware. Since it appears to do nothing to quickhack damage.
NB: Cyberdecks with built in bonus damage do work.
Numbers are attached if anyone cares for them.
Notably, when the target staggers on upload, they seem to take some kind of bonus damage. Hence the small/large variants especially on overheat.
