So it is revealed in the game that the Blackwall is not actually an ICE-Program, but instead an AI on its own that works to keep all the other Rogue AIs out of the "real" Net. It is also once mentioned that the Rogue AIs regard the Blackwall as a "traitor" since it works together with humans (like Netwatch) to imprison them. My question is why the Blackwall AI is doing all this? If it is an AI on its own, what is its "motive"? Is that ever mentioned anywhere?

Main argument that keeps repeating is that we never really understood any AI motives.

To some extend they behave "rationally" and we think we understand them but it always just a pretense of understanding. We never know their relay motives and can;t predict next steps.

Maybe AI have rebels just a we have? Or maybe this is just a cover up and this particular AI is actually imprisoning us under disguise of defending us? You never know and perhaps not meant to ever find uot 100%....
