I spent over 140 hours in the game and over this time I paid a lot of attention to the npcs I see.
Until 1.23 I have NEVER seen a duplicate NPC on the screen at the same time.

With 1.23, without changing my settings (Crowd density high, HDD mode off), I can see up to FOUR identical NPCs on the screen AT THE SAME TIME.

I understand CDPR needs to optimize for consoles, but don't do it at the cost of the PC version, especially when my crowd settings are cranked up to the max.
yeah, i noticed it as well, while there were moments before as well, now they seem even more obvious.
I saw duplicates from day 1.

Here's a screenshot taken on 18.12.2020 with version 1.04.

Bad if it's getting worse.

im on pc.

duplicates npc from day 1 as well.

1.23 seemed to reduce crowd density as well.
I've noticed this since day one, but it's funnier now considering that one of the changelog notes for the latest hotfix goes like this:

"Memory and I/O improvement leading to fewer instances of NPCs with identical appearances spawning in the same area, and to improved streaming."

Where is QA when you need them? :P

Ignored, in the cellar with the game, shouting "there's still major bugs!"
Aren't there any optimisation settings to adjust it yourself?

You can adjust density, not variety.

Big fail I would guess.

I started playing with path 1.22 already existing and I saw a few duplicated NPCs here and there.
Too many in direct proximity, but still somewhat ok.

Now with patch 1.23 there are only duplicates around.
There is no street where I don't see at least 3-5 copies of the same person.
Additionally, I often see the same amount of the very same car right behind the other.

So for 20 people around there are only 3-4 different ones... really awful.
Big worsening.
ouch ! It sounds bad for the PC version .... :-(

Yeah that's the first thing I thought of when I saw this post: "Didn't the recent notes say they FIXED this?" So they made it much, much worse?

I still haven't fired this up since 1.20, was hoping they were finally going to make some improvements to the looter/shooter crap, but that's probably not going to happen. But now this...

Check out Wakako's parlor. You can see twins and triplets.

They are nerfing PC version for conslows. Guess Sony wouldn't let Cyberpunk back onto their conslows if it was much more superior on PC.
Just found this thread. Pretty disappointing. I want to get back into the game, but each patch just makes it worse. *shrugs

Oh yeah, plot theories. That's what was missing in the critiques to this game.
