Hey guys,

I haven't bought the game, yet but I still have the original CD here. So I am not sure if the documents shipped with the GOG version give one of the (in my opinion) most helpful hints (heck I don't even know anymore if the original manual mentions it).

Soon as you get into the TF-22 you have to fire weapons manually. This is done best with the mouse. But you will realize that the mouse Y-axis is inverted. Some may like this, while others - like me - cannot handle this at all. But do not get frustrated. Simply press "F" during a railroad sequence and your mouse will act normally.

P.S.: The setting will not be saved. So if you restart the game, you will need to press F again when encountering a railroad sequence.

Hello there.

I purchased this game today on GOG and I was so excited to see it on here. I first played this game back when my dad and I played the demo (level 1 and 3, I believe) back from when I was 4 years old in 1994. We eventually got the full game, although I don't recall beating it (later areas of the game with close quarters were too tough for me). I got to the first railshooter stage when I was extremely bummed to find the inverted controls (missed the blue fuel truck on my way by because of them). I immediately quit the game and jumped on GOG to see if there was any sort of fix for this.

Fortunately, I found your post and followed your instructions (or instruction?). Worked like a charm. I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for your help. The game may have been unplayable without it.
Technically it makes sense since Zak is using joysticks to shoot, but it did give hell to me the first time I played this game. Still, thanks for sharing.

You, my good sir, are a lifesaver, thanks for the tip!
You're very welcome.
This game holds a very special place in my heart. It wasn't the first I played on a PC but the first I played on my first very own PC as it came pre-installed there. And even tho its sales and reception wasn't stellar I still love it (and its sequel). I hope this hint is helpful so some of you will like it the way I do. :)
This game came with my first PC. It was fun and the CG was awesome for the time! I'm not sure where my original disc got off to...

I did have problems with the last shooting sequence, never was able to get past it. Eventually I hacked the save game and told it to go to the next scene.

Thank you SO MUCH! I couldn't for the life of me figure out why my mouse was inverted when I played this game alright just last night. You saved me from ragequitting this nice, if old, game
