It goes past the waether factory logo and the text. But then I just get a black screen, i can hear the buttons popping up. But I can't see anything. This all happened after I tried to install mods

If you are worried about your save, just go to

\Users\[YOUR_WINDOWS_USER_NAME]\AppData\LocalLow\Weather Factory\Cultist Simulator

Copy the files to another place, uninstall everything, reinstall, and copy the save files back in their place (after running the game once before, to make sure everything runs fine and all necessary folders are created)
