Just found a clever way to kill the Dummy L??, and felt like I would share.
Note that this was done on Standard Mode, Hard Difficulty. (This probably works on Vanilla, but I don't know about Chaos.)
Party contains:
Mimic/Summoner (with 2 first strike gloves, a baton, and fast cast)
Mimic/Weaver (might need 1 first strike glove)
Two other Mimics, one with an offensive ability (I like Chi Burst)
The strategy is as follows:
* Right away, cast Tira. This allows everyone to evade 2 physical attacks.
* Then, cast Status Amp on the party. Now everyone can evade 3 physical attacks.
* Boss will use No Magic.
* Fight as normal. For its next 3 turns, the boss will use physical attacks (the only thing it can do other than No Magic/Physical), and since each character can evade 3 physical hits, nobody will get hit.
* Boss will then use No Physical.
* The Mimic's Copy ability lets you use the ability you were just hit by, in this case No Physical, except that you get to choose the target. (At this point, do you see where this is going?)
* So, Copy that No Physical, and target the boss. Now the boss can't use physical attacks. This lasts until the boss is hit with No Magic, which won't happen unless you Copy it, and you have no reason to do so.
* The boss is now without its physical attacks, as the only attacks the boss has are physical, the boss can no longer attack you. (It can still use No Magic and No Physical against you, however.)
* Since the boss can't attack you, the battle is basically won at this point.
This really feels like a clever strategy, and it was fun figuring out that you could do this.
