I'll be honest, I picked up Crysis from GOG hoping I wouldn't have the same problems I have with the Origin copy I already had (which was transferred in from a boxed copy...) Not GOGs or Origins faults, but I really would like to be able to finish the game.

So, the problem.

If I start the non-DX9 Crysis, it immediately crashes out to a "Crysis has stopped working." No intro videos, sound, nothing. If I start the DX9 Crysis, it will start *IF* I use my normal account and not my gaming login (yes, multiple logins) but at some point when playing, it eventually crashes out with the same error. I am not starting the game from the GOG Galaxy and have that not running when I do start the game. I'm launching the game with the [Program path]\CrysisLauncher.exe -dx9 shortcut from the Start menu.

My system specs:
Windows 10 Pro x64
i7
32GB RAM
256GB SSD + 4TB HD (Games get installed to the 4TB drive)
2x R9 200 series video cards (Crossfire, driver 17.2.1)

I'm rapidly heading towards, just to see if it resolves the problem, reloading my PC with Win7 Pro x64, or enabling Hyper-V and loading a WinXP Pro VM...

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I've same problem, with intel i7 3930k, 980 TI SLI, SSD Samsung 850 EVO 1 TB, and Windows 10 PRO 64.

Game goes out to desktop with a black screen at few seconds from play start.

The causes varies, with a different dll every time
Hmm, it's a very odd black screen alright. It started fine the first time, then I dared to add a .cfg file and tried to add the anisotropic mod. I've completely uninstalled multiple times now, and included the fun removal of the profile crysis folder as well, about to let it go..

I got mine working by making sure not to alter anything, including the intro videos.

As far as I see it, this title is particularly touchy about changes, I'm merely glad I got a new profile to work after deleting the my documents/my games/crysis folder.

I got the 64bit version working too, for now. I hope you too find a solution.

As the only way it will even start up now is from the CrysisLauncher.exe alone & that boots it right into 64bit, but to change the intro videos I had to rename, they could not be removed and allow the game to function, & anisotropic just crashes the game when added where it needs to go to turn on as a mod in game.
