Are there any known differences between the GoG and Steam versions? Both are on sale for about the same amount. (Depends on the coutnry you are in.)

I kinda like buying from GoG more but I wonder if there are any known issues with the developer or the GoG being one version late or something like that?

The game "Apotheon" is from the same devs, and this game got it´s 1.3 patch in feb 2016 on steam.
On gog it´s still version 1.26

Maybe it´s different with this game, but i dont wanna try.

P.S.
I visited their website cryptark.com and it seems they mention to buy the game via Steam or Humble, the OST is linked to bandcamp.com
So they are not mentioning gog with a word. And i think that´s not a good sign.

Edit: Well they did mention GOG in their tweet, though their linking is a bit weird. Maybe there is hope yet but... not sure if I should wait and miss the deal or not.
Tried to ask the devs via twitter, we'll see if they even bother to reply.

I wouldn't count on it. It's already outdated. On Steam it's 1.2 and has "Save & Quit" in the Rogue Mode. On GOG it's still 1.1 and lacks this option. I love GOG and prefer getting games on GOG but in this case I regret my decision.
Funny enough on twitter they said that

When we update it'll be updated on all platforms. Console updates might take longer to go live though.

I wonder how updated it is now? There was update on steam last week I think.
It was updated to 1.2 today. According to the GOG support, some of the delays were caused by the GOG QA, and that's fine in my opinion. It seems we do not need to get worried yet.
