Good lord, I've just started playing this game again after 3 years, and I don't think I've ever seen a game render a blizzard so realistically (during the opening scenes and gameplay moments). I live in North Dakota, and have been through many blizzards, and this game captures the feeling perfectly. The snow, the feeling and sounds of the howling wind, the white-outs, the hopelessness.

I'm inside the ship now. And I never did finish this game back in the day, but I'm really hoping for more outdoors blizzard scenes later in the game. I actually sat here and shivered while I was playing.

The Long Dark is a game with similar feel.

Good catch! I really need to give The Long Dark another shot, as it's been a while.

And I see you're from Canada, so I assume you've seen your share of blizzards as well. I've got a real love/hate relationship with them. I love hunkering down at home while one is raging outside, but I hate shoveling out afterward, and going to work (I drive for a living).
