I'm considering buying the game.

The premise sort of reminds me of Sunless Seas, with the idea of a "rogue-like" (which there means "you die a lot") with a larger story that slowly unfolds.

The problem in Sunless Seas is that you restarted in the same place every time (with the world-state reset every time!), so you basically had to replay the same early game every. single. time. you. died. Which quickly became boring.

Is that the case in this game as well, or does the "rogue-like" include persistent progress?

Sorry for our late reply. I missed your message.

So, with every death, you have to restart from the beginning, losing all your stuff and crew members.
However, regarding the story line, you only restart at the beginning of the current chapter.
So, some progress is preserved. Furthermore, the pacing of the game is way more faster than Sunless Sea.

Okay, that sounds much more reasonable. I don't mind having to restart "gameplay"-wise, but having to restart the story every time was such a pain in the ass.

Thanks for the response!
