This is the first game on GOG that I've seen that has an extra line in the description, in EASY TO READ ALL-CAPS (sarcasm):

"ACCEPTANCE OF END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT REQUIRED TO PLAY"

What makes this game so different than the others, to require some special extra licensing agreement?

Long version, anyone? I'm interested to know more, and if this abrogates the usual GOG "You buy it, you own it" policy.

Actually that was was also the long version :-)

Jokes aside, apparently part of the deal with EA required the inclusion, in their titles, of an explicit acceptance of their EULA.
This however is not tied to any active process (ie. no online check or anything similar) and does not have any impact on the usual GOG setup package, that can still be executed completely offline

Simply put, it's just a text that you need to acknowledge during the installation

I always assumed that playing a game meant you agreed to the licence agreement. Either I was wrong all these years (likely) or they just want to make darn sure you know it. The only thing I can see it really effecting though is pirates. Not that it actually does effect them, but if the publisher really wanted to go after them that line would probably make it loads easier to do it.
