After I start the game and get to the first loading screen (the attachment) the game will forever load, I then quit and an error window pops up "***unhandled exception detected*** address 0x00415685" I have no idea what this means.

My PC is running on windows 10 and can run the Witcher 3 so it should be able to run this too although I am aware older games have issues running on newer machines.

Any help on the matter will be appreciated.

I hope you already solved it, but I would say, that the issue might be Windows 10. The game is pretty old, so comparimg it to Witcher 3, might not be the best benchmark. I do not know much about Win 10, but I had similar issues on Win 7, when I started to play it. I have played little bit with compatibility settings, and it helped little bit. Still it crashes once in an hour or two. So frequent saving is a must.

Yeah now I'm a little more experienced with PC gaming I know it's not as simple as having 'better' stuff and sadly I haven't got it to work as of yet but it seems too much of a hassle at this point. But I appreciate the help all the same, thanks man.

Greetings!

I am having exactly the same problem on a 2 year old Windows 10 computer. I have Crusader Kings Complete installed through GOG Galaxy, Windows 10 is completely updated, and my experience is exaclty as you you have reported it.

However, I fougred out a means of running it on my Windows 10 computer. I hope this works for you too.

Instead of running it through Gog Galaxy, I clicked on the Windows botton in the lower left corner of my screen, found Crusader Kings on that menu, and ran it as an administrator. The initial video launched, and the the game came up, all set to go. No ***unhandled exception detected*** address 0x00415685" message. Just back to my Good Old Game!

Thanks for this! I had the same issue, just followed what you wrote to run it outside of Galaxy, and it worked.
