So I installed the new update from galaxy and now, when I open the game, after running smoothly for 20 seconds the framerate drops to like 10 fps for 5 seconds then the game freezes. Before the update the game ran without problems.
Am I the only one who is experiencing this?

I played for a while with the last update and I'm not having the problem you comment.

If you want (in case you didn't try before), you could rollback to version 1.2.0-1 to see if the problem persist or it only happens with the last hotfix.
Not sure how this will affect the saves that you have, so be carefull.

Edit: Do you have an integrated GPU? Some users had problem with them in the past, like thiis one on steam
