Can this game really not be played with an integrated graphics solution?

Crosscode was originally coded in HTML 5. If you don’t believe me, you can play the demo version of it directly from the developer’s website:

The executable that you get from gog.com, steam, itch.io, simply runs that html code through a web browser emulator.

Just ran the web demo using a really old go stream 7 (the thing has an intel atom z3735G) and the game was mostly playable (probably would’ve been more playable if it wasn’t downloading and installing drivers for the Logitech mouse I plugged into it), which was impressive considering that intel atom processors aren’t really designed for this kind of thing, and this tablet was not meant to do this either (it was a miracle that the sole micro USB port it had was able to give my dell keyboard and it’s built-in usb hub power for the wireless mouse dongle).

TL;DR- the system requirements for this game is really, really low. Should run perfectly fine on integrated graphics made over half a decade ago.

Before 2020 I played this on an Intel Pentium N4200 with HD Graphics 505 laptop with a 1366 x 768 screen and 4GB RAM. It was fine. In 80 hours of gameplay there were only a few moments where I had framedrops below 30 when the screen was really really busy.

Any newer hardware (i3 and above and Ryzen) should be okay even if you factor in Windows updates, higher screen resolution etc.

I played the 1.0 release on my old system, Sandy Bridge CPU with HD 3000 integrated video, and it worked great other than not being able to run fit to my display size (it has a fixed 568x320 internal resolution that I might have been able to double but not do the more complex fit to screen calculations, although I might have needed to play at 1x - whatever it was was fine for me on a 1600x900). Really no performance realted issues at all after that as far as I can recall and lots of times with complex stuff going on that I wished would cause it to slow down a bit :/. I think even the next integrated video was a significant improvement on that one so anything newer might be ok with fit to screen.
