Dukelage: The game runs fine with one major problem. All mouse and keyboard input will be lost if you alt-tab out of the game or if the game spawns a 2nd window for any reason.
lubuntu 22.04
Wine 6.0.3 (stock wine from lubuntu repo)
ASRock RX 6600 XT
With those initial settings I got the same results as @Dukelage. I don't think I had the combination of focus and desire required to finish the campaign under those circumstances.
Alt-tab and desktop switching are fine when I use wine from lutris-fshack-6.13-3-x86_64/bin/wine. It probably works OK with later lutris versions - I started by copying an old script from another program (Sacrifice). I might try with the most recent lutris and report back.
YMMV but it might "just work" with the default Lutris install (I also didn't try that - yet).
Last vexing issue for me is that the controls page on the options dialog is blank. I think I'd be happy if there was a way to disable the screen-edge auto-pan. Maybe in a config file? I may ask on the nutcracker forum. I'll attempt to attach a screenshot of the blank controls dialog. [edit] This turned out to be to the lack of mscorefonts. Thx to @guises for that tip. Game might actually be playable on my system now.
Behavior with lutris-fshack-7.2 seems the same as with 6.13.3
@guises it doesn't appear the cutscenes work for anyone on Steam/Proton either. Sad "workaround" but maybe they're available standalone on youtube or dev site
