ok i couldnt get the installers to run at all, which was different to every other install problem i could find.
after extensive messing around contacting the guys over at indiegala (as where purchased, but these are the gog versions) and a couple of days of irritation i finally got them to install, via the most insane method ever!

Windows 7 Safe Mode - Minimal!

Please note this worked for me, and the problem i was having was that running the setup.exe will not do anything at all, it shows in task manager but nothing would happen. This is different to many of the other install / run problems.

ill edit this later with a few more details but seriously try it, safe mode has never fixed anything much less an install problem!!!
