Just snapped up all three games from the sale and I've spent the last couple days on a major nostalgia trip. But now I've started looking around for mods other people to discuss the game with, and the community seems to have all but vanished, leaving behind nothing but memories and an old wiki littered with broken links. :(

I love Creatures, but the games themselves were only where about 50% of the enjoyment came from. The community was a vital part of the rest of it...I'm craving some of those in-depth discussions about mutations and stories about wolfling runs and whether people deserve to be literally murdered IRL for slapping their Norns around or not. (well okay maybe we don't need to bring back that last one...)

This is currently the most active Creatures forum I've managed to find, and of course it's mainly just questions about technical issues and such.

Sigh. Oh well, I guess it's the truth that you can't go back again.

So that this post will actually contain something besides me just waxing nostalgic, I'm looking for two specific mods and I wonder if anyone could help me find them. I remember I used to have one that let me actually pick up Norns (and Grendels and Ettins) and move them like any other object, and I also had some little walls made of force fields or whatever that you could pick up and drop anywhere to isolate creatures in an area. I don't even know if either of these exist anymore...though thankfully I at least found the vocabulizer so I don't have to worry about teaching them English, that would have been my #3 Must Have mod right there.

Anyway, back to setting up my death match arena....

Actually, there is still a very healthy and active Creatures community out there! The most active site (complete with forum) is Creatures Caves. There are many things to do, and it is also filled with many resources! This forum is actually probably the least active... Once you have a look around Creatures Caves, I think you'll find it's extremely active and friendly!

As for the mods you're looking for, there is a section on Creatures Caves specifically for seeking out lost downloads. Might be best to ask there, but if not, which game(s) are the two mods for? I have a few COBs/agents I think are the correct ones, but it all depends on which games you're after.

Anyways, hopefully you'll be able to connect with the community soon! We just had the annual Creatures Community Spirit Festival in the beginning of November, where community members got together to release brand new additions/mods for the games. Enjoy!
