Hi all - appreciate any advice you can give. I used to be able to run Creatures 2 on my Windows 8 machine upgraded to 10, but I have since done a fresh reinstall of Windows 10 and cannot get the game to run at all. I have tried everything I can think of:
- change to 16 bit colors (even tried 8 bit)
- Run as admin/not admin in every single compatibility mode
- change resolution to 1280x720
- complete reinstall of the game (deleted any remaining files before reinstalling)
The same thing happens every time. I run the launcher, choose the default "World" world, it think for a minute, and then spits out the error: "An error was detected during startup. Creatures 2 may not function correctly. Please restart your machine and try again." The game never loads, don't even get to the black screen of doom, it just closes the splash screen. There aren't any processes still running in the background.
I am at my wit's end and really really want to play this!
