Just got Creatures The Albian Years for good old nostalgia times, But when i start the game the bee hive sound effect is crackling and of course gets annoying very quickly i only just started the game so i dunno what other sound effects also crackle but the rest seem to be fine.
Also stuffing around for a few minutes in Creatures 2 i didn't notice any crackling sound effects there.

My specs:
Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Motherboard: ASRock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 ATX LGA1155
Processor: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor

Sound Card: I don't have a sound card I'm just using my motherboard with the Realtek audio drivers

Hurray for nostalgia! I'm assuming you're referring to the bees in Creatures 1? It's a little odd that the noise is the only one creating issues. You should be able to find the actual .wav file located under C:\GOG.com\Creatures Albian Years\Creatures 1\Sounds. It's the one titled "bees.wav." Have you tested this in a simple sound player to see if it sounds the same? It's not exactly a clean sounding noise in the game compared to some of the others.

I haven't experienced an issue with this, nor have I heard of it before. Hopefully someone will be able to offer you a solution, though!
Thats just how the soundfile is. You can use the one from C2 instead, if you replace it in the sound folder.
