Hi all.
Just today I purchased the two packages "Creatures: The Albian Years" and "Creatures: Exodus". I remember playing the original games many years ago, so I was happy to find them on Gog and be able to play again, this time under Windows 7 64 bit.
I was able to start Creatures 1 and the first Norn was born. The problem is that I use my monitor at 1920*1080, and at this resolution the Norns and the various object are too small on the screen. I did not find any option to change the resolution in game, and any configuration file in the game directory. Do you know if there is a way to zoom or change the game resolution, without the need to directly change that of my monitor?
Thanks,

Due to the way the game was written there's no way around changing your monitor resolution. =/ Probably due to it's windows 3.1 roots.

As a work around, you can have Windows automatically switch to 640x480 then switch back to the default when the game is closed. I found you can do this by changing the compatibility settings for "creatures.exe" (not launcher.exe) to run in 640x480. If the compatibility tab doesn't show up you'll have to choose troubleshoot compatibility in the right click menu. Once the troubleshooter starts, just choose "troubleshoot program" then only check "this program opens bus doesn't display correctly" the check the box talking about 640x480 then click next. Then click test program then click next. Click test the program then click next again.
Thank you for the answer.
I made some tests, but 640*480 is a bit too restricted as resolution. At this point probably the best thing for me is to manually change the resolution in Windows. Apart from that, it seems that the program runs quite well under Windows 7 64 bit. I am quite happy, because I own the original boxed version of Creatures 1, but I was not able to install it under Windows 7, while the patched GOG version seems working correctly.
