I've installed the game and it runs great, however it doesn't save. I think the game might not have permissions to write to disk, but I don't know how to fix that. I opened up the log file and found the below lines. Afaik, I gave the application the ability to write to the entire disk per the GOG Support FAQ page.

Also, I've rebooted, reinstalled, all the normal stuff.

From log file:

I came up with a workaround for this. I created the "slot1" folder in the appropriate spot and the game saves there now.
