this game is advertised as being in "English, French, Italian, German, Spanish".

Maybe I'm blind but I didn't find any way to change the language anywhere in or outside the game, nor any help about a possible cmd line option to set.

I bought it for my kids which can only understand german so far, so any help would be appreciated.
(I already bought the telltale games under the assumption that the game would have localized versions *as advertised by GOG!* and had to find out the hard way that this was not the case. I really hope it's just an oversight this time)

(forgot to mark that as a question :(

bbye,
Sammy

hi sammy,
Im Verzeichnis .../Costume Quest/Data/config existiert eine Language.cfg
Dort ersetzt du:
language = 'enUS'
durch
language = 'deDE' (oder 'itIT' für Italienisch, 'frFR' für Französisch bzw. 'esES' für Spanisch)

edit:
to change Language you have to edit the file "language.cfg" in ".../Costume Quest/Data/config":
replace the line: language = 'enUS'
with: language = 'deDE' (for german)
or: language = 'itIT' (italian)
or: language = 'frFR' (french)
or: language = 'esES' (spain)

Yay Danke! :)

Too bad I didn't flag that as a question. I think it should be mentioned on the support page:/

The installer files are identical regardless which language I set in the selection, which makes the choice
rather useless. Maybe there was supposed to be a different installer package which had exactly this
configuration set accordingly.

Seems to me someone made a little mistake on the upload for the correct installer file.

If the installer contains all languages anyway, the best would be if you could choose a language in the
installer dialogue (from a user's perspective). As simple as this sounds, I doubt GOG will put any effort
into it, though.

So the simplest course of action would be to prominently document the solution for the language selection
on the game's page.

Have you checked whether savefiles are compatible accross languages?

Have you tried checking the Costume Quest [GOG.com] folder, inside Start Menu?
There is a shortcut called Language Settings.
It points to this file: "Costume Quest\Language_selector.exe"
I tried changing default language, and it worked for me.

:)
I've installed it under Linux, but there are no Language.cfg file. I've created one with that line and it does not work... does anyone knows how to change language in Linux?
