Hi, I downloaded Cossacks anthology. Played it for one day completely fine. But today i cannot start any Cossacks 1 game. On startup i get a message: Display mode 1024x768x8 not found. Cossacks should not run.

If i click on retry, the game starts, but i am stuck on very low resolution and cannot switch it in options.

Anyone experienced this?

Try running the game in Compatibility Mode, especially when you're on Windows 8 or newer.
Right-click the game's desktop icon (if you're using this to start the game) and select the preferences. Then go to the compatibility tab to set the mode.
You could try Compatibility Mode for Windows 7 and if that doesn't work go down to Windows XP (SP3).
I'd also run the game as admin by checking the respective box on the compatibility tab and if all this doesn't work, also check the 256 mode on same tab.
