Me and a friend of mine experience the same problem of not being able to play Multiplayer while another friend has this game on Steam and already has the patch and can play online.
Why is nobody from GOG responding!!!

Sry my English is teribble. Use the files from Steam.
Go in the Steam Gamedirectory and copy the folders: data, dlcs, mods, scripts in the Direcetory from GOG.

Luckily the game has been updated today and we can play online again!! Yess!!
