I wouldn't count on it. There's a hotfix for the steam version that came out on launch day (more than two weeks ago) that has yet to arrive at GOG. I've been tracking dev comments on the steam forum as well, and it sounds like most of the team was on vacation last week, so don't expect an update soon. And even if they push out an update, it's unclear if they'll bother keeping the GOG version up-to-date...
Regarding their future plans, their priority right now seems to be bug fixes and stability (you would think coming out of early access means it's a stable release, but the definition of a game ready for release these days...) They're considering mod support, more mission and more room types later on and possibly a DLC. They won't release new content until it's been coded into all versions so that cross-saving doesn't break, so it might be a while.
If the game seems entertaining to you, you'll probably have fun with it for a few days even in its current state until the crashes start getting on your nerves (crashes about every half hour for me, usually losing the progress from a battle or two 'cos the game doesn't auto-save after a battle.) Content is a little thin right now, but can still be fun if you like setting challenges for yourself (e.g. I put together a crew where everyone loves everyone at max level; was thinking of doing one where everyone hates everyone but I still manage to keep things together, but the crashes made me give up on the game for now.)
