I just read today that Microids is going to release a new Corsairs next year, which I am very excited for.
The screenshots don't look particularly pretty, especially when compared to the latest Port Royale, but being early in development I am confident this will improve. Hopefully real-time battles and boarding remain, based on the Steam description I am sure they will.
