So I just purchased and installed corsairs gold, it used to be my favorite game when I was young... but so it turns out not to work. The game crashes 5 minutes after I launched a new game. What to do?

I have the same problem. After 5 - 10 minutes the game crashes and a pop up says "Windows stopped working".

I had the same issue but I found a solution. You have to download the game from the GOG.com website and not from galaxy. I don't know why but it works.
