I am running on windows 8.1. Game runs fine for awhile and then this error message pops up. It then says it has to close. Any advice? Also how do you disable desktop composition and visual themes in windows 8?

I had a similar problem when I downloaded and installed the game via gog galaxy. When I downloaded the game from gog.com, the problem was gone.
