I know I will likely buy this game regardless (but am wondering as others will, too)... I don't see any mention about screen resolution display options. Windowed mode, full screen, widescreen, etc.? Experience and recommendations welcome.

I don't remember any option to change resolution, and I just fired it up and can't find anything obvious. I think you're stuck with what looks like 640x480. It's a DOS game, so it's a bit before most games started having such options.
Thanks, wpegg! Builder-type map-related games are one of the kinds of old games that can be greatly enhanced by support for higher resolution. I was hoping this might be the case for Constructor as this is a GOG I missed the first time around.

But as all GOGers know, you can't make a crappy game better by just supporting better graphics or higher resolution. The game design has to be the foundation. Constructor looks to be just such a 'sleeper' cult hit. BTW, your and other Constructor experts' posts here certainly have helped me make my decision about picking this one up. I am sure my initial experience will be better for having read this forum.

So it looks like I'll turn to coming up with the best application of monitor and graphics driver settings to make 640x480 as pleasant as possible on my current system. (BTW, I use the free Stardock 'Fences' utility to corral my desktop icons which so often get royally hosed when old games have a less-than-friendly resolution-switching impact on exit.)

Thanks again, wpegg. Keep up the good 'work' here and elsewhere... Now if I could just get more folks to 'wanted' vote to bring Space Colony to GOG.com! :-)
Hope you enjoy the game. It's not easy mind, as has been complained about in the forums, there is no active pause, so you have to move fast. It is a classic though, and if you're quick enough, or use the work arounds posted in other threads, it is very enjoyable.

Absolutely. That's what I was referring to in my prior comment. I am sure that with the "first critical 10 seconds tactic" and other insights that you veterans have contributed in this forum, folks like me have a good chance to get "over the hump" of initial play and develop the skills and have the fun that you've had with this most interesting game.

Thanks for sharing!
So is there no way to change resolution? I used to play the game in a 15´screen (now i have a 23´ flat) and it seemed to have a 800*600 res, but it might be a question of perspective (i have much more to compare with now...). Really wanted to zoom out for gameplay purposes. :/

Thanks
