I see this game has a soundtrack by Jeremy Soule which tempts me to buy the game solely for the soundtrack (I have been slowly trying to get as many soundtracks done by him as I can). My question is: how many tracks does the soundtrack have? Also, how does it compare to some of the other Jeremy Soule Soundtracks?

I found the music to be very good, but not as memorable as some of his earlier stuff (Total Annihilation and Morrowind). I honestly don't remember there being much music in the game, probably just in major cutscenes.

You wouldn't happen to know how many tracks are in the downloadable soundtrack?

There are 50 individual tracks on the soundtrack, but about half of them are incidentals that are less than a minute long, the rest mostly being just short of two minutes long. I've not listened to them all but it seems they are all classic orchestral sci-fi pieces which is very appropriate since this game has a Star Trek "talky sci-fi" feel.
