As soon as I finish typing I am purchasing. I bought this game when it first came out and still play it. I run it in Win 98SE in a Virtual PC, kinda annoying.
I remember getting the original as a Christmas present, I fell in love with the game and still play it. Definitely getting this, as I have never played the Deluxe version.
Played this when it first came out and can't wait to play it again. Just downloaded it.
I am now on turn 193 as a former French colony. I just started my third colony, with the first two having successfully fended off attacks from the mother country, Spain and Portugal. I have a heavily stacked military in all three city centers, with my older two colonies having at least three generals, each with level 5-6 units of all types. I am pretty low in overall score, but I have a large amount of income that I am devoting to military research, which has really toughened up the troops.
I can't believe how much I've been playing this game. If alt-tab worked, and I understand why it has been locked, I don't think I'd ever shut it down. It's a shame Quicksilver never topped this, or really had anything else close to as good as this.
Highly recommended to all of those on the fence and going through all of the threads about it.

Ahem. These are all reasonably good games:
Castles
Castles II
Invictus: In the Shadow of Olympus
Star Trek: Starfleet Command
But HERE'S the topper...
Master of Orion 3!!!!!!
Well, ok. Not MOO3...

LOL! Moo3 was a joke. Moo2 - now there was an awesome game :D GOG need to get their hands on Lords of the Realm 2. So I can download that again :D
But staying on topic: this game came to a friend of my father's who didn't know what to do with it, and from him to me. And I adored it! Until GOG showed up with it, I was playing it on an old pentium2 laptop, that held some of my other old gaming favourites (like Tyrian!).

Yep, was really surprised at the fast download speed too. going to go install it now :D
This is for dw.ryan, 15 months too late, but anyhow - Alt+Tab is locked, however, Alt+Enter works fine. So there is no need to ever exit this excellent piece of software, just keep it running in a tiny little window :)
Hi,
Just stumbled across this site looking for other cnw players. I own the original Delux edition, and play using dosbox. Is there any benefit to purchasing this version?

Not really I believe, BTW - I have seen mp3s on the interplay website - any idea where I can find them now? Interplay deleted it . . . :(
Just picked it up and it's just as fun as it was so many years ago. I'm gonna be immersed for awhile, I think. :D
Unfortunately, I had this pirated when it first came out. I was a teen back then and didn't have the right mind. Fortunately, when I saw it on GoG while visiting my fiance in Germany, I bought it immediately.

Moo3 with the patcher and some mods takes a complete 180. As annoying as a game fixed by fans may be, it does make moo3 a game to play.
Had the demo, then bought it when it came out. Enjoyed it then. It was on sale so I went ahead and picked it up again. Thought the capture the flag battle was unique for this type of game. Decent graphics for when it came out.
It was actually the second game I've ever got from GOG - I bought Fallout 2 and used my free code to get this game.
I played a lot with this earlier on, so it was a no-brainer to get it here. (Truth be said, when I was informed that one of GOG's first two publishers would be Interplay, I was wondering if this game would be in their selection!)
