Let me start by saying I have a love hate relationship with the mantis. I love using carriers and fighters but some of their ships appear to be total crap.

the two worst in my opinion are the khamir and the scout carrier both doing almost no damage to any armor type, even with the khamirs explosive ram.

perhaps I am just using them wrong. does anyone know how to use either of these ships?

Not a veteran player, but i also think early mantis ships are pretty bad. I use them as scouts and later as expendable shield for my carriers. I guess this is part of the balance since the tiamat carrier can kill other big ships in seconds.
