And so, I'm stuck at tutorial mission 1 :(

All hotkeys seem to work, except for shift key - I can hit a guard no problem, but not tie him up.

Any way around it, perhaps remaping the shift key?

Are you trying to tie the guard up with the thief? If so, that could be your problem, as he cannot tie enemies up. Use the sapper to do that.

If that isn't the problem, then you could try remapping the key.
