I have killed about 5-6 gaurds so far, however, it seems much harder to kill the front ones on top of the hill for the ones on the bottom can see really good, so any help on how or the best way to take the gaurds out at the top of the hill. I thank you in advance, RudyMan.

This mission is definitely a bit harder than the ones that precede it, and you'll probably find that perfect timing, careful planning, and the occasional dosage of luck are going to be your best friends from here on out.

Now, I can't really give you a definite way to do this part, but I'll try to help.

Place the decoy in some place that the right guard on top of the hill will be able to hear it. Then, use the eye thingy that lets you see what that one guard at the bottom of the hill sees (the guard that is walking back and forth). You should also, however, watch the other guard that walks past that little building and then kind of circles around it.

Now, when both of the guards down at the bottom are turned away, turn on the decoy, run up and kill the left guard, and try to quickly pick up the body and go hide it behind one of the walls before another guard sees it. Again, this is going to require almost perfect timing, and it's also going to require good use of the keyboard shortcuts.

*Three things to note: (1) the two guards at this top part of the hill won't run away to find the decoy. They'll just turn toward it for a short time, so you'll need to be especially fast in taking out the other guard. (2) If taking out the left guard first just seems near impossible, because the timing isn't possible to get right, or something doesn't work the way it should, try to do the same thing, just with the right guard instead of the left. And (3) save right before you attempt to do any of this, and then load if you fail. That's actually good advice at any time.

And lastly, in case you don't always want to wait for us people here in the GOG community to get on here and try to help you out (which sometimes takes several hours, possibly even days), I found this walkthrough to be a little help:

http://www.gamesover.com/walkthroughs/commandos.htm

It can be a bit vague at times, and sometimes the tactics it suggest aren't explained the best, but if you really get stuck, this can help a little. Of course, that doesn't mean you should stop trying your own methods and tactics-- after all, figuring out a really difficult part of this game can make you feel really good. Also, if you still need help, you can still come here for advice. I, or someone else, will no doubt do their best to help you out.
Hi Daedalus 1138, I thank you very much for your help on mission 8 and giving me the link to answers or how to work around the gaurds. I have to say this is a very tuff game and i do love playing it, I am so happy that they have the save feature if not we would all be going nuts. I will have to keep going back and reading the page on how to kill these guys as I keep trying to get through it and I know I will finish it some time, however, it will take time to play this mission, again I thank you very much for your help, all the best. Hi Daedalus, I thank you for all of your help and I have to say the link that you posted has really helped. Mission 10 was a lot of fun with the tanks, now Mission 11 is another story it has gaurds every where so it is going to really be a hard game I can see that right off. By chance do you know if their is a link like you posted for Beyond The Call Of Duty, if so and you have it , please send me the link, I Thank You in Advance for all of your help. Kindest, regards RudyMan

No problem. As for Beyond the Call of Duty, I've never actually gotten around to playing it myself. It is overall a bit more difficult than Behind Enemy Lines, and by the time I finished that one, I was ready to take a break from the difficulty. Because I've never played much of it, I've never had much reason to use a walkthrough. I did, however, find one:

http://www.the-spoiler.com/ACTION/Eidos.interactive/commandos.beyond.the.call.of.duty.1.html

Because I haven't used, I can't tell you how good it is. It looks to be pretty detailed, though, so you might find it useful.
I Thank you for all your help and yes these games can be a pain to play but in many ways a lot of fun. All the besst, RudyMan
