If you enjoy frustration, this is the game for you.
The game manual is incredibly incomplete.
Although the game has the interesting feature of giving special
abilities to certain charachter types, what the game manual fails to tell
you is that you will be DENIED the ability to do certain things with
certain charachters.....real simple stuff, like tying someone up after
you knocked them out, is impossible for the Thief, for example?
Why? You tell me. Point is, the manual DOES NOT list these
limitations....you get to find out in the middle of the game.
What fun, reloading another failed mission.
It gets better......the game DENIES you the ability to use
all kinds of equipment. Again, the manual fails to warn you WHICH
tools and weapons WHICH charachter types can and cannot use.
Every command you want to make is tied to the keyboard. Mouse
clicking is completely counterintuitive, and, you guessed it, the
manual is incomplete......for example, the Sapper can find mines with
the detector, that's pretty up-front. But the manual does NOT tell you that
in order to disarm them, you must equip the detector again, hover it over
the mine until the icon turns to a pair of wire cutters, then hold down
both the right and left mouse buttons at the same time.....that's a pretty
f****ing vital piece of information, and not something you want to
reload the game sixteen times to figure out.
If you want to fire a weapon, forget about it. The process is so cumbersome
and complex, you may as well forget it. There's no hope. The game
consists of watching twitchy little enemies jump around for many minutes.
When you figure out the pattern of their twitches, you time it
EXACTLY RIGHT to sneak up and knock them out. Get this one
millisecond wrong, and you're dead. Reaload game.....again.
That's about it. What fun. Well worth the ten dollars.....NOT.
