I have desperadoes and I managed make it run on win 7 but it was pretty crash happy. I'd like to avoid this with commandos.

Also what does co-op mean? How does it differ from single and multiplayer?

Yes they run on Win7. As for co-op, I have no clue! :P Sorry.

On Windows 7, they should work. If Commandos BEL/BTCOD play too fast and/or are crash-prone, you can always use the BEL/BTCOD Ultimate Fix: http://www.mediafire.com/download/7vmmwaaoqgoo1oy/Commandos_BEL_BCD_Ultimate_Fixes.rar

The games don't have standard multiplayer, but co-op instead. The host chooses a mission the players will play (which are the exact same as the ones you play alone), and then all players choose which commandos they will control (I think that leaving commandos without a player will mean they can be controlled by both players, not sure). This means that players play the same mission at the same time, but mostly with different commandos, which may make for interesting tactical ideas at times.
