Why had I never heard of this game, and why dont more people like it? This forum is too quiet...

It's still a very popular series in the wargaming community. Happy to see a new entrant in to the fan club! :)

I'm learning to appreciate it. It has what attracted me to the battle portion of the older Total War games...

I agree. This is a top notch game. I bought it during the Christmas sale and it was worth every penny.

One of the greatest games ever, I must have put a 1000 hours in CM over the years.
Would be cool if GOG could also get the sequels, CM:Barbarossa and CM:Africa Korps.
Doesn't look very likely though.

Holy cow!! I did not expect the game to have OVER 200 scenarios!!!!
If I were Good Old Games I'd modify the CCBO page to say

"This is the special edition that includes over 200 scenarios and 11 mods."

Just saying. But it was a nice surprise.

I love this game! I'm new to wargames, but I finally won a long battle due to careful planning and it was satisfying

I love it. Steel Panthers used to be my favorite, but now it has a worthy rival. I just wish the ed would let the game play longer than 30 turns. I set it for 100, but it set itself back to 30.
