This game may be good but I'm so frustrated about its general quality that I don't have the patience to discover it.

For some reason, I have grey background behind every text in the game. So it takes several seconds until I can read anything. However, this is the first game I have ever seen with no options menu so there's nothing I could do about it.There is no pause menu either so if you want to make a basic action like saving a game, you have to look through all the hotkeys (I know you get used to it but it indicates how bad the inferface is).

Camera controls are terrible. I cannot use my mouse wheel so zoom in and out. Rotating and moving are slow and uncomfortable.

+ and - are supposed to cycle units but instead, they control camera height. The / key (next to shift) cycles between units backwards but I couldn't find a key to cycle forward (and according to the tutorial, that's the way you usually issue orders).

Not to mention the graphic but you are at least prepared for it when you buy the game. I recently bought a Wing Commander game which is old but somehow lovely. This game is just ugly.

I understand that some people love this game but you have to be really devoted to start enjoying it. As for me, my time and patience are limited and I have lots of $4 games to choose from so I doubt I will ever invest time in this game.

You can take forever to plan your moves, save your game, make you a pizza or whatever your wishes are.. Then you hit "GO", and then there´s 1 minute for your orders to be done. After that you can take forever again to plan. for the next move.
And you wish to save in that one minute of live-action? There are up to three or four essential shortcuts for saving, unit scaling and stuff. And if you forget them, they´re one click away.
The interface is clear, and if you got the patience to play - and really try - for longer than 15 minutes you will learn.
I played the tutorial 2 times and was fixed. The rest i learned myself by playing other missions. But you will always learn in this sim.
There is no strategy simulation that gives you such a feeling for the landscape and therefore its important points, the hills, the line of fire and all the things which the other games simply forget.
Prian is right. You just have to put in a little time to learn the controls which are not that hard if you are used to wargames. Hell, I have not been able to stop playing this great game to play any of my other GOG games,..I have over a hundred of them,
