My friend and I play CMBB regularly as an email game and have noticed that the artillery is broken. We also used to play when it was on CD's so we have been playing a while. When using artillery, the spot it hits is not even in the ballpark of the place you aim for and never corrects. We have played numerous games with different settings and this is true every time. In the original game artillery was useable but in the GOG variant it is quite broken.
An additional glitch I ran into recently was with the Russian spotter for 152mm howitzer. The transport class is listed at 1 but I could not embark him in an empty truck, halftrack or even sit him on a tank. When He finally walked far enough to see something, I targeted a spot and it says it is going to take 25 turns before the rounds come in. This is in an email scenario match with periods of day and night and the daytime is only 15 turns so it makes it un-useable. He was also listed as having only 20 rounds which seemed very small as well. Not sure if the ammo qty is right or wrong though.
One last thing. When playing email scenario games with day and night missions. The first person to place troops can only see the areas they can place troops. The second player can see their own zone and the enemy's zones which gives them a distinct advantage.
