Greetings all. I am happy to answer any questions about the game! (Colossal Cave). It just went live this morning here on GOG. Roberta and I are excited to have the game that we've worked so hard on, for so long, finally available to be played. We hope you'll have fun as much fun playing the game as we did making it.
Thanks for bringing the game here, it was an instant purchase.

Is there any chance Roberta would write a companion book to yours where she goes more in depth about the making/history of the games she was involved in?
Looking forward to playing this.
Thanks for this DRM-free release; it's what I appreciate GOG for! I hope that someday it'll be supported on GNU/Linux without Steam, but for now I intend to attempt it on wine.

However, first, I would like to experience the text adventure version it was based on. Is that included in the installers here too, or should I be looking elsewhere?

When there's the PS4 version (hopefully with PSVR), I'll jump at the chance to play that too. In the far-flung future, I expect to have a PS5 with a PSVR2, but that's likely only when they've been supplanted by newer systems (and come down in price quite a bit).

Thanks for everything!
Like that recent picture, Ken *cough*...;) As much as you guys were into FMV games when you were current, I'm surprised you've given that up as FMV capability today is light years ahead of where it was in Phantasmagoria, and utterly ubiquitous in an installed computer market that is enormous compared to what it was in those days. (I owned all of your original games back when they initially shipped and am close to your age, I suppose, Ken.)

I'd really like to see a remake of Phantasmagoria today--with better actors (and a husband & wife couple with a little chemistry between them would be appreciated.) The sky's the limit because of your past reputations, but you guys have to be the ones to make that decision, of course.
Grin --- You noticed my picture! Yup ... that's not what I look like now. Somehow, to my great disappointment, some grey hair has crept in. I liked the "old me" better, so I've decided I shall remain 25 forever.

As to Phantasmagoria, I agree! Roberta and I are still bogged down on Colossal Cave. We want the game to be perfect before we move onto other things. We're forcing ourselves not to move beyond this game until we exhaust all ideas for how to make it better.

I'm also wondering how it works on Wine since I do not use Windows...

Unless I'm misunderstanding the question, I suspect the game is the same, but your likelihood of walking off an edge increases with each sip.

Wine Is Not an Emulator allows running (some) Windows programs on Linux. (But that was a funny reply, lol)

My mistake. I just asked one of the developers who said that "officially" it won't work, but it's likely to, albeit with potential for some bugs. I wish I could offer more clarity!
