Hey everyone!

I just bought & installed COL (used to be one of my favorites, back in the days...).
I seem to have a bug where I sometimes get a free expert farmer when I have to do something with the colonists manning the stockade. Can´t exactly reproduce this, but so far I´ve collected 4 free expert farmers this way and it kinda ruins the game balance...

Any thoughts?

While it seems like quite a bit, colonists will learn skills over time such as farming, etc. So if you have a colonist on a food tile he may spontaneously convert to an expert farmer. This particular mechanic has nothing to do with the stockade though, and again 4 seems super high but its possible. Other than that havent a clue and have not seen this behavior myself.

Placing a Free Colonist to work on a Resource Square -- those with an icon, such as Food, Fur, Tobacco, Sugar etc. -- increases the chances that the Free Colonist will become an Expert through experience. It's not a cheat. It appears to be built into the game. It seems to happen more often early in the game. but I can't be sure of this.

I know the bug you're talking about, it just happened to me. It spawns a new citizen (master farmer) out of nowhere, nothing to do with the training that's part of the game. It has something to do with having a colonist outside the city and clicking inside somewhere. I think the only way to fix it is to just disband the farmer when it pops.
